OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH
What New Millennium Evangelical Church Believes

We believe that there is only one true and living God. He exists eternally in three distinct and equal Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

We believe that the Bible, which consists only of the 66 canonical books of the Old and New Testaments, is God’s revelation of Himself to humanity. It is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God, that is truthful, unchanging and stands forever.
We affirm that God’s Word alone is the supreme standard and the final authority in all matters of faith and practice for the believer and for the church (Sola Scriptura). No traditions of the church, no cultural beliefs, theological teachings, no Christian experience or reason has a spiritual authority greater than or equal to the spiritual authority of the Scriptures.
We believe that God created humanity as male and female. As both Adam (man) and Eve (woman) are made in the image and likeness of God, each has equal dignity and importance (worth) before Him.
We believe that all human beings are born with a sinful nature (spiritually lost). Our sin separates us from God and renders us incapable of saving ourselves and therefore we are in need of a Savior without sin. Despite humanity’s separation from God caused by sin, God has a wonderful plan to redeem all of humankind through Christ (the only remedy).
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, who is both fully God and fully man. We believe in His virgin birth, In His sinless life, in His miracles, in His atoning death on the Cross in our place, bearing God’s punishment for our sins, appeasing the Father, and redeeming us by His blood. By His death, Christ effected a reconciliation between God and humanity.
We believe that Jesus resurrected again on the third day, and ascended into heaven where He is now seated at the right-hand side of the Father, ruling over all things, as the Head of His body, the church and interceding for us as advocate and High Priest, until He comes again to establish His kingdom upon the earth.
We believe that salvation is entirely a work of God’s grace and cannot be earned or deserved. There is no other way for sinners to be saved but by His grace alone (Sola Gratia), through faith alone (Sola Fide) in the finished work of Christ Jesus alone (Solus Christus).
We believe that salvation is accomplished solely by the Lord Jesus Christ in His death and resurrection. Christ is the only Savior and mediator between sinful human and the holy God. He is the only way to the Father.
We believe in the person and work of the Holy Spirit, convicting sinners of guilt in regard to sin, righteousness and judgment, imparting spiritual life through regeneration, baptizing all believers into the Body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them for the day of redemption. The Holy Spirit is also the source of all gifts to the Church, granting and bestowing spiritual gifts upon all who are saved for the edification and building of the Body of Christ.
We believe that the universal church is the body of which Christ is the head and to which all who are saved belong. As to its primary function and role, we believe that the Church has two overriding purposes: ministering to the body (believers) and ministering to the world (unbelievers).
We believe in the sacraments of the Lord’s Supper and water baptism for all believers.
We believe that though death is to be expected by all, both believers and unbelievers, it is not the end of life, rather, there is life beyond the grave. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, one to everlasting life, and the other to everlasting separation from God.
We believe in the certainty of the Second Coming of Christ, who will return personally and visibly in power and glory to judge the living and the dead, and to establish God’s rule over all things, ultimately overcoming evil, death, Satan and sin. This is the basis of the Christian’s hope, the one anticipated event through which God will accomplish His eternal purpose in history and bring all things to their consummation in Christ.
We believe that God’s glory is the highest pursuit in life as God alone is most deserving of all our worship, praise, adoration, service and love. There is no other goal in life which is as worthy. Therefore, we live and exist to glorify God alone (Soli Deo Gloria).
